4 Tips For Stylishly Wearing Graphic Tees

Posted on: 16 August 2018

Graphic tees are becoming more and more popular for men. Men's fashion continues to take a more casual approach in pants and t-shirts. The graphic t-shirt is now a must-have for men. For some men, though, they are afraid to try this new phenomenon, thinking it will make them look like a teenager again. Luckily, it is possible to look stylish in a graphic t-shirt with the following four tips.

Tip #1: Pick a Graphic Shirt That Fits Right

You know how you take your time choosing a button-down shirt so that it fits just right? Well, you should do the same thing with a graphic t-shirt, as it needs to fit according to your build. The shape and size of a graphic t-shirt should complement your body type. You don't want a shirt that is too tight, but you don't want one that is too loose either. Opt for a straight fit, which will look great when you tuck it in and throw on a blazer. In terms of length, it should reach about the middle of your zipper.

Tip #2: Tone Down the Colors

While you may typically love bold colors, you won't want to go this route when you are looking at graphic tees for men. Instead, you will want to avoid the bright colors, as they can get pretty obnoxious, especially if the graphics are printed in neon or overly aggressive colors. Try to stick to colors that are easy to digest, like pale hues, which soften the punch a bit.

Tip #3: Consider Logos of a Smaller Scale

Since you aren't a teenager anymore, you don't need a t-shirt with a logo that takes up the entire front or back of the shirt. You don't need to overdo the logo in your old(er) age. Instead, opt for a shirt with small-scale imagery. A good idea is to find a shirt with a discreet logo on the left side of the chest. This type of off-center branding will allow you to wear the shirt to work underneath your suit jacket with your boss being none the wiser, then you can shed the jacket afterward and head straight to the bar without having to go home and change.

Tip #4: Be a Fan of the Band

If you opt for a band graphic t-shirt, don't get one unless you are truly a fan of the band. Not only are you going to enjoy the shirt more, but you won't have to worry about entering into awkward conversations with passersby about a band that you aren't even familiar with. Also, if you can, get a vintage band shirt.
