Do You Have A Non-Traditional Daughter Approaching Her Quinceañera? Ideas For You

Posted on: 26 February 2017

When your baby girl was born, you may have already started dreaming of her beautiful quinceañera celebration. However, as your daughter grows up, you may find that she is not the most traditional, feminine young woman in the world. While this is not necessarily an issue in and of itself, it may be a factor to consider when it comes time to begin planning her quinceañera party and attire. There are numerous ways that you can adjust your daughter's quinceañera celebration to accommodate her style and personality while still having a beautiful and lavish celebration that all of her friends and family can enjoy. Get to know some of those steps that you can take so that you can give your daughter an amazing quinceañera that she will remember and cherish for the rest of her life.

Consider Alternatives to the Traditional White Gown

Traditionally, the young woman celebrating her 15th birthday with a quinceañera will do so in a stunningly beautiful white (or sometimes colorful) ball gown. These gowns are spectacular and are a great deal of fun to wear for young women that love dressing up and that enjoy traditional feminine style and activities.

However, for a young woman who prefers to wear jeans or sweats to dresses and likes pant rather than skirts, putting on a big, pouffy dress can be torturous and uncomfortable. If you want to better accommodate your daughter's style and wishes, you could instead opt to have a custom tuxedo made for your daughter.

You can, for example, have tailored womens white tuxedo pants made for your daughter along with a bejeweled or otherwise eye-catching top and then a tuxedo jacket to go with. That way, your daughter still dresses up and enjoys her party but does not have to wear an outfit that is uncomfortable or otherwise outside of her taste.

Name the Tables After Characters or People She Loves or Admires

Traditional quinceañera parties have numerous tables with assigned seats for all of the guests who attend. These tables are often numbered like those at an upscale wedding reception or at a restaurant.

To bring in your daughter's personality and tastes, though, you could instead name the tables after people and/or characters that she loves and admires. For example, if she is a big fan of the Marvel superheroes, you could name the tables Black Widow, Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Thor, and the like. Or if she is a feminist or interested in civil rights, you can name the tables after famous figures in those movements.

With these ideas in mind, you can begin planning your non-traditional daughter's quinceañera so she can still have a phenomenal celebration and experience while also embracing her interests and tastes.
