Proper Work Boots (Construction, Western, Or Combat)

You can't wear dress shoes because they are not sturdy enough. Likewise, sneakers are not often going to be something that your supervisor will want you to wear. You should make sure that you get something that will protect your feet in case you drop something, and you should also make sure that the shoes have good traction. You might want to get work boots that have steal toes if you are working as a porter in a building that has heavy debris.

However, if you're working in a commercial store or a residential building, then you don't have to go that far and get expensive steel-toed boots. You could get combat boots or even modest western style boots. The primary thing you should look for is to make sure that you're choosing something that is sturdy and has good traction. Ideally, you want a neutral color such as black or dark brown.

Work Pants

You don't want to wear jeans or sweatpants for porter work. This is not professional so what you want to do is make sure that you have work pants that are strong and also professional looking. So you should choose something that is strong and also has a professional look. You should opt for something like dark brown khakis or work slacks. If you find dark colored denim ( in a color such as black), then that will also work. The main thing to remember is that you want pants that will look professional as well as stand up to the work.
